Journey across "The Seven Hills" (Tirumala)

I went to Tirumala last week with my friends. We walked through seven hills from Tirupathi to reach Tirumala  in Alipiri path.We started at 4 am in the morning and reached Tirupathi at 7am.We had breakfast and reached the starting point of the pedastrian path by 8.30 am in the morning. This path 3550 steps and 3 km of road. The average distance covers about 14 miles. We offered camphor at the starting point,I prayed God to give me enough energy to walk.

After an hour we stopped at a 1000th step and took a break. We saw many vendors selling water bottles, sodas, raw mangoes, gooseberries, pappaya, watermelon and various food stuff. We bought a Soda and a water bottle first. Then we saw a rock mandapam nearby. We sat there and relaxed for sometime.

While walking,we found mandapams at the peaks of seven hills with the names of the peaks like Seshadri,Vedadri,Garudadri,Anjanadri,Vrishabhadri ,Narayanadri and Venkatadri.(adri means hill in sanskrit) were wriiten near the mandapams. The statues of dasavathara (the 10 incarnations) of Lord Vishnu are seen in the path. The incarnation of  Lord Vishnu in Dwapara Yuga is Krishna.

Now in the path after almost 500 steps,we spotted the deer park maintained by TTD (Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanam) organisation. We ate raw mangoes, watermelon and even fed the deer with some peanuts. Those deer were beautiful with spots on their body and healthy. We stopped there and took photographs.

After crossing this park,we walked for a very long distance and reached a point where we can see the vehicles coming to Tirumala on the road.We spotted many hotels and shops at this point. We didn't have anything to eat as we had our tommies full...!!! Then we arrived near the Hanuman statue. We bought some key chains on which our names were written.

Then we followed the on the road (2km).We were very tired so we bought glucose and ate two or three spoons of it and had a strong lemon soda.It was like a recharge to our bodies. The view was excellent from this path since we were in the end of the sixth peak. The vehicle traffic was less so we stopped  at view points, enjoyed the view and took photographs.

After walking on road,we reach the foot of the Mokaalla parvatha, it has 550 steps which are steep and causes kneel pain (mokaalla means knees in telugu).May be because of this, people named it as Mokaalla parvatham. The picture shows the starting point of Mokaalla parvatha.

We took 4 hours to complete the walk in this path.....After this amazing, exciting and tiring journey across seven hills we went to a restaurant to have lunch..Then we went to Divya Darshan Queue Complex and waited there for 3 hours. We had an excellent darshan, we forgot all the pains we had in the journey. Then we returned to my friend's home in Tirupathi, spent the night there and returned home in the morning.
